05/15/2024Airbags Used When Launching Ships
When a ship is launched a device called a “marine launching bladder” is often used. These bags are usually made of high-strength, wear-resistant rubber material and filled with air or other gases. They are placed on the bottom of the ship as a temporary support to ensure that the ship can slide smoothly into the water when launched without damaging the hull or causing unnecessary friction and friction damage. Once the ship enters the water, these bladders are quickly emptied and then retracted for next use. This device is often used in shipbuilding processes in shipyards.
